You can't eat maybes

Yesterday I was talking with a good friend.

He was telling me about how he's looking at working with a different company, one where the pay is lower than he's used to... but the CEO of this tech startup is "very willing" to increase it sometime in the future.

... but the thing is, this friend needs to stack some o' the green stuff.

So we were discussing the merits of working with this guy or not.

But in the end, I said something kinda funny:

"That pay is a lot lower than you're worth man. You need to do what you gotta do to make ends meet, and obviously there's room for expansion there in the future but... You can't eat maybes."

And he couldn't help but agree.

Will he take the job?

Not sure.

But it's a good point overall.

One that extends into other areas, too.

A lot of guys are in this "maybe" zone with their personal growth.

They've got one foot in, one foot out.

But I can tell you from experience that unless you've got an extremely high level of commitment, quitting porn will remain almost impossible. Because it's simply too addictive, too alluring, too easy to pull up in 3-seconds flat, for anything less than full-on commitment to be enough.

So if you're struggling and feeling half-committed..

I'd recommend taking a closer look at some of the reasons why quitting ain't optional, and what you'll gain on the other side of it.

And when it's painfully clear that it's gotta stop...

You're in the right place.

This is why one of the first things I do with each of my clients is bring them from low-or-medium commitment up to sky-high commitment levels where they'd run through a brick wall to change their situation if they had to.

That is the kind of motivation you need.

"Maybe" isn't enough.
