Visiting family feels weird

DM

Devin McDermott

I've spent the past 5 years living abroad in Mexico.

These have been the most important years of my life in every way.

Health, fitness, business, lifestyle, intimacy, overcoming addictions, learning an entire language and integrating with a different culture... I am fundamentally different and massively more developed than I was 5 years ago. And while I'm visiting family, I can't help but notice how much hasn't really changed here.

I love them. Dearly.

Which makes me wish for more positive change around these parts.

But that just ain't the path they're on.

Though it does make me proud of how far I've come.

We all have this choice, every day.

To either work on ourselves and consciously grow, or coast.

To give it everything we have, or take a half-assed approach where we feel like we're doing something but not much is actually changing.

If there's a problem you've been dealing with... well, I'll be blunt. Either you can give it partial effort, and look back in 5 years and wish you'd given it the attention it deserved because you're stuck with the reality that you didn't and are still suffering from the same shyt plaguing your life... except with 5 years less left.

Or, you can give it the attention it deserves. Now. So that in 5 years you look back and are proud of the decisions you made that turned you in a better direction.

Let's nip the porn problem in the bud. Fully confidentially, so you can finally move on.

I know it ain't easy to talk about.

But what's worse, talking about it, or keeping on struggling?
