The monday blues

The monday blues

Monday morning can be a real drag.

Especially when you spend the weekends hollowing out your soul with life-draining vices like porn, booze, binging Netflix and video games... and then have to pull yourself back into the real world.

That's how I used to live.

Weekend warrior.

Living it up with my high-stimulation lifestyle.

Then, as if the real world wasn't already hard enough, I'd get back to work on Monday at half-potential... though saying "half" may be generous. Nursing my limping neurochemistry, emotions frayed, more prone to stress and anxiety. Feeling unfocused and less motivated than I'd like.

These days?

I start Mondays with a feeling of enthusiasm.

It's incredible what happens when you heal your dopamine reward center.

You start feeling so much more energized, motivated, and fulfilled by even the simple things in life like work.

One of my clients is experiencing that change in real-time lately. He was absolutely hating his job for several years, and wanted to make a career change... and he still does... but interestingly, lately he's also been finding more satisfaction in his work than he has in a very long time, despite the fact nothing has actually changed as far as the work itself is concerned.

What's changed is him.

And more specifically, his neurochemistry.

He's healed his brain massively by quitting porn and masturbation just 1.5 months ago.

And it's already flipping his world upside down in the best way.

Feeling more connected with his family. Rekindling his intimacy. More fulfilled in his work. More motivated with his health. And with a much greater fire to keep improving in as many ways as he can with the momentum he's caught.

Anyways, I want to keep this message simple.

So, silver lining?

If you're dragging ass in your life and it just feels like an unenjoyable slog... and these kinds of high-stimulation, low-value, soul-sucking habits are a bigger part of your lifestyle than they maybe should be... then you'll most certainly be happy as a pig in shit with how much better things get when you give your overstimulated brain the healing attention it needs and deserves by cutting down on the crap, and ramping up some healthier behaviors instead. Food for thought!

That's it for this one.
