The mirror doesn't lie

The mirror doesn't lie

I remember 7 years back, I hated mirrors.

Not just because I wasn't where I wanted to be physically.

But because I wasn't where or who I wanted to be as a person in general.

Sure, I'd had some successes and I was doing just fine in a lot of ways.

But something fundamental was missing.

Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say: broken.

I was feeling lost. Unmotivated and uninspired. Like every day was a bit of a drag. With an irritability and subtle dissatisfaction that followed me around every day of my life.

And when I looked in the mirror?

It reflected all that back to me.

When I put myself to the task of figuring out what I had to do to change it, the more I thought about it, the more clear it became: I had to quit porn, heal my dopamine reward center and frontal cortex which are directly connected to how we feel about ourselves and our lives, fix my bad habits, and find a sense of purpose to give me an overarching sense of direction. Which is the journey I dedicated myself to, starting 7 years ago.

Anyways, that was my journey.

Maybe yours is different.

But here's a question to get the ball rolling:

Do you like who you see in the mirror?

Not just physically, but your whole being.

... and if not, what do you think has to change to fix it?

Food for thought.

And on a related note:

Since quitting porn 5 years ago, there isn't a single part of my life that hasn't improved drastically due to the better decisions I've made, mental clarity I've had, and motivation I've sustained... all thanks to healing my brain from the damage it was doing. What I've realized is that it's simply not possible to reach our potential as men, or truly anywhere near it, without having a healthy brain. Without that, even if we accomplish plenty objectively, we're still just leaving a lot on the table... whether it be in our relationships, lost productivity, or simply our self-confidence and internal sense of peace and satisfaction.

Which is why quitting is such a good (and necessary) move.

Because if you're the kind of guy who's reading this newsletter, you obviously care about your growth, and this one habit is one of the greatest hindrance's to most modern men's progress.

And if you've been struggling to quit on your own, and have already spent years trying... let's interrupt the pattern of relapses together, and show you how to close that porn-riddled chapter for good and move on.
